Privacy policy
How BeanOX GmbH handles personal data when you visit www.beanox.com, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
BeanOX GmbHAm Mörsbach 9
64409 Messel,
Email: hello [at] beanox.com
Further details can be found in our imprint.
2. At a glance
- No cookies. This website does not set cookies. The only things stored in your browser are your colour-theme and language choices, and only if you select them (see below).
- No tracking or analytics. We do not use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking tools.
- No third-party content. All fonts, images and scripts are delivered from our own server. No data is sent to third parties simply by viewing a page.
- No forms. If you contact us, you do so by email from your own email program.
3. Hosting and server log files
When you visit this website, your browser automatically transmits technical information that is required to deliver the pages. This may include:
- IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of the request
- the requested page or file and the HTTP status code
- the referring website (referrer), if transmitted
- browser type and version, and operating system (user agent)
This data is processed to deliver the website, to ensure its stability and security, and to detect and defend against misuse. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and reliable operation of the website. The data is not combined with other data sources and is not used to identify you personally. Log files are deleted automatically after 90 days, unless longer storage is required to investigate a specific security incident.
This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, on servers located in Germany and Finland — all within the European Union. Hetzner processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. Further information can be found in the Hetzner privacy policy.
Colour-theme and language preferences
If you switch the colour theme (light or dark) or select a language, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage (keys beanox-theme and beanox-lang), so the website remembers it on your next visit. To suggest a suitable language on your first visit, the website also reads the language setting of your browser and notes in the session storage (key beanox-lang-detected) that it has done so; this entry is deleted when you close the browser. None of this information leaves your device or is transmitted to us or anyone else. Storing it is strictly necessary to provide the functions you requested (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). Selecting “automatic” for the theme deletes that entry; you can remove all entries at any time by clearing your browser’s website data.
4. Contacting us
If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide (such as your name, email address and the content of your message) to handle your request and any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is in responding to enquiries.
We delete this data once your request has been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations (for example under commercial or tax law) require us to keep it longer.
5. Software downloads
Software installers are provided from our download server download.beanox.com. When you download a file, the same technical data as described in section 3 is processed in order to deliver the file and protect the server against misuse (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
